Research Assistant At Meril Life Sciences

During my internship at Meril Life Sciences, I gained valuable insights into the biomedical field, particularly in R&D, manufacturing, and clinical trials. I toured their manufacturing units for orthopaedics and cardiovascular implants, and witnessed how precision and automation ensure quality in implant production. At NUVO AI, Meril's AI division, I interacted with researchers from top IITs, refining my AI-driven healthcare ideas and discussing my ideas with them. Having gained an interest in my ideas and vision, I'm now a research assistant at NUVO AI. I'm redeveloping my model ThromboCount for broader clinical use. I am also contributing to the RadioIQ project, an AI tool for tuberculosis screening that has entered the trial phase. I am also a part of the TraumaAI project, which helps surgeons select the optimal implant configurations for fractures.

Internship at Fortis Hospital

My primary preoccupation during this internship was to assess the optimization of patient care with advanced technology, for the purposes of financial feasibility. Some of these processes such as needs assessment, cost analysis, and revenue projections need to be adopted by rural healthcare infrastructure to deliver healthcare services aligned with global standards even in resource-constrained settings.

Internship at Hackershala

I interned at hackershala in Grade XI. During my internship at Hackershala, I gained hands-on experience in ethical hacking and cybersecurity. The program emphasized practical skills and real-world applications, allowing me to understand the importance of cybersecurity in today's digital landscape. I learned various techniques to identify vulnerabilities. This experience not only enhanced my technical knowledge but also generated an interest in the world of Cybersecurity.

Part of Zindagi Live Foundation

I have been a part of Zindagi Live Foundation and worked for promoting voluntary blood donation, educating masses on the benefits of blood donation. I have also taken part in organizing various donation camps held by the foundation. As well as I have worked to raise awareness about Thalassemia.

Research Intern at Baba Farid University of Health Sciences

I was a research Intern under Dr. Jaspreet Vij, Associate Professor. I worked to prepare the questionnaire for Quality of Life and Motor Function in Children with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus: Impact on Family Functioning in Indian Rural Population and circulated it.

RadioIQ

Part of the RadioIQ team, an AI model to check lung X-rays for Tuberculosis; conducting the trial phase of the project aimed at helping/ assisting TB patients in Ludhiana.

Collaborated with Dr Rajesh Mahajan at DMC Hospital and Dr Sushil Gupta at Fortis Hospital in Ludhiana to conduct the trial phase of the project.

Working on the integration of AI-based tools in the existing clinical workflows to help in disease detection and monitoring.

TraumaAI

Assisting in the development of an AI model to recommend sizes for screws and plates for fractures.

Collaborated with Fortis Hospital Ludhiana to collect X-ray dataset of over 50,000 images and annotated clinical data for the development of models.

Collaborating with the AI team to learn about the data annotation, model development and design.

BULAAO

Developed a website connecting elderly patients with physiotherapy services by trained physiotherapists in 5 cities - Ludhiana, Pathankot, Jalandhar, Patiala, and Bhatinda, in Punjab, India.

Onboarded 40 professional physiotherapists for pre and post-operative care for elderly patients.

Increased the scope of business by enhancing yearly patient visits from 1,500 to 4,000 over 2 years.

Developed an AI-powered platform for early detection of nail diseases and provided it to 5 dermatologists in the private and public sectors in Ludhiana, Punjab to test the model's accuracy.

Achieved an accuracy of 98.8% overall and 100% in diseases like Acral Lentiginous Melanoma, Blue Finger, Clubbing, and Terry’s Nails.

Developed a web app to host the AI model and hosted it on Streamlit.

Developing an AI model to count the number of platelets from images of blood slides, addressing limitations in existing haematology analyzers, especially in resource-constrained areas with limited access to trained pathologists.

Currently under development in collaboration with the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Innovation Lab of Lovely Professional University.

The idea was patented by the Indian Patent Office.

Saarthi

Initiated a community-driven not-for-profit initiative that aimed to help COVID patients by arranging home-cooked food and medical kits for them.

Coordinated meal preparation and distribution for over 400 families, ensuring reliable access to nutritious food during isolation periods.

Expanded services to offer at-home blood tests and medical kits, addressing immediate healthcare needs and supporting early detection of COVID-19 symptoms.

Collaborated with local healthcare providers from 2 institutions to offer essential supplies like blood tests, aiming to fill critical gaps in community support during the pandemic.
